Campeche is located on the southwest part of the Yucatan peninsula, where the coastline of the Gulf of Mexico curves from a north-south to east-west direction. Campeche is 251km (157 miles) south-west of Merida, offering beautiful ruins and the biosphere reserve at Calakmul.

Campeche is the most thoroughly restored colonial city in Mexico! The house facades in the old part of town have been repaired and painted. Several Mexican movie companies have taken advantage of the restoration to shoot films here.

Campeche has two kinds of climate: the humid warm and the sub-humid warm.

Campeche is an undiscovered heaven in Mexico, offering a rare mix of beaches, colonial cities and mayan ruins.
